By booking with Cairngorm 4×4 Hire, you agree to our hire terms and privacy policy.

Driver Requirements:

  • Minimum age 25
  • Full UK or International licence held ≥ 2 years
  • UK drivers must provide DVLA check code Payment & Deposit

Payment and Deposit:​

  • Full payment before hire
  • £999 refundable deposit
  • Deposit reduced to £250 with approved excess insurance

Insurance & Liability:

  • Self-drive hire insurance included
  • You are responsible for the vehicle during the hire
  • Damage beyond normal wear may be charged up to your excess

Cancellations:

  • 14+ days: full refund
  • 7–14 days: 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days: no refund

Insurance Excess & Deposit

  • All hires carry a £999 insurance excess.
  • Our standard refundable deposit is £999, which forms part of this excess but does not limit your liability.
  • If costs exceed the deposit, you are liable for the balance up to £999. Deposit can be reduced to £250 with approved excess insurance.

Privacy: We collect contact, licence, and payment details to process bookings, verify drivers, and meet legal/insurance requirements. Data is shared only with insurers, payment providers, or as required by law.
